My chickens LOVE popcorn

We made popcorn over the weekend for movie night with the family. Leftovers made it to school lunch bags. Tonight after dinner, the kernals and last few nibbles of popcorn were delivered to the coop.

OMG - you should have seen the chickens play keep away with a piece of popcorn. Best free entertainment we can have around here !!!

Is it ok to give chickens popcorn? (now I ask, right?)

Mine LOVE old spinach and spaghetti! When the cat kills a mouse in the garage I sweep it up and the chickens pick at it!

Go easy on the salt and the butter and you can give them all the popped corn you want. It's just corn. Being popped it has a large volume relative to its mass so they're not eating as much as it first appears.

Chickens love popcorn. Ditto about the salt and butter, but otherwise it's a great treat. And as you experienced, it has high entertainment value.
