my chickens peck at the younger ones every time

Give them enough room to get away, and enough feeders that they don't have to fight. If you separate them, they'll re-establish pecking order when you put them back together. But they might need separating until they're older if they're getting beat up too badly.

I guess it would depend on the space. Mine are 8 weeks old and are living side-by-side with my full-grown hens, but they have lots of room in the yard to travel in their own groups. At least 6 weeks old, I'd say.

It would depend on the breed, but most lay at about 20-28 weeks. So if they're a standard breed, expect eggs September-October.
