Just wondering what to do...My four chickens are sleeping on top of their coop instead of in it. My one hen lays her eggs in the coop in her nesting box, but that's the only time any of them get in it. I'm new to this and just need some pointers. Also I have 2 roos and 2 hens...only one hen is laying(they're both about a year old) Any info would be wonderful!!

You can try giving them their favorite treat close to roosting time. Once they are in there...lock them up and repeat each night until they get the hang of going in on their own.

How long have you had your chickens? You said they are almost a year old. Did you raise them from chicks or just get them as older chickens? Did you just maybe move them into a new coop? I guess you could lock them into the coop for a week, so they know it is their home if this a new coop for them. If this has always been there coop you may want to really check it for mice, rats, things that might be keeping them out after dark. Anyways those are 2 things that could work. It just depends on the situation.
