They're crying because they're hungry but they literally will NOT eat ANYTHING I give them. I ran out of feed. They won't eat eggs. They won't eat bread. They won't eat anything green. They won't eat corn. They won't eat ANYTHING. The only thing they're wanting to eat is egg shells. They will NOT eat ANYTHING. They look at it and they say nope. They usually eat a lot of things but they're just being noisy picking at everything on the ground but will NOT eat ANYTHING I offer them. Like they'd rather die than have to eat eggs and all these other delicious foods. They're pecking my phone, they're pecking the dirt, the weeds everything in an attempt to get some food. But just walk right by the cooked eggs and corn I gave them

My birds love GrapeNuts. Worth a try.

I'd be for going to the store asap and getting them food, I have cat's that are like that, if they don't get the certain type of food they want, they will starve to death, they won't even eat steak..lol.. Thankfully my flock isn't that picky, if you don't move fast enough they will eat you.
I have food at my moms house but it's storming right now and I can't get there :l I'm probably going to force them to eat to be honest

I'm over by Ocala and we're getting a lot of rain too. I do have feed on hand and took a couple of buckets out to put in some feeders to get them through until the rain lets up. Try some cereal if you have any.

Do you have any cats? I have in the past in a pinch used cat food and broke up the pieces for the chickens. They ate it fine.

First, sit down, take some deep breaths, and get control of yourself. This is not a disaster. They are not going to be permanently damaged by not eating for a full day or even a bit more any more than you would be permanently damaged by skipping a meal or two. How old are they? When did they eat the last of the regular chicken feed? It's not a great situation but just how bad is it? Panic doesn't help anything, thinking about it does.

If they are pecking weeds and even dirt they are getting food. Just because they aren't eating what you offer them doesn't mean they are hungry. Especially if it is things you've fed them before it probably means they are not hungry. There is an old saying, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink. You can offer different things to chickens, dogs, or horses but that doesn't mean they are going to eat it. If they want it they will. If they don't they won't.

My suggestion is to leave what you are offering them where they can get them if they decide they want them. They will not starve to death even if they don't eat for a bit. When I offer mine corn, cabbage leaves, ripe tomatoes, or other things from the garden they don't always rush to eat them. Sometimes they take hours to eat them if they even eat them. Sometimes they have things they like better.

You are not a horrible evil person just because you ran out of that feed. How much you care comes through clearly. Stuff happens and they are not going to be harmed. When that rain is over get some more feed. They will be fine.
