Hi everyone,
I can't believe how quickly Mildred, Mabel & Pearl are growing (Two RIR's and one BR). At one week and one day old, they are busy and so much more active than when I got them at three days old. Amazing little critters! I'm so excited to have them and I'm enjoying them so much. We made a makeshift brooder in the bathtub. Tarp to protect the tub, towels and paper towels on the bottom, a little wire shelf covered with a towel to closer to the heat lamp and off the bottom, a little ladder to learn how to perch and of course, feeder & water. We are getting a piece of pvc lattice this weekend to make the tub more enclosed since Mabel & Pearl have decided jumping is fun.
I started a blog! http://nativefloridagirl.blog.com Chickens & Gardens & Worms, Oh My! It's not complete and under construction but I have my first post up and will add more posts and photos this weekend.
I'm loving all the information I'm getting from back yard chickens and look forward to hearing from all of you!
BTW, I am a native Florida girl but I now live in the central valley of California. I miss home & family but love my life here with husband.
