this is my new coop that DH made for me, his chicken wife! Both our kids and our coop kids love it,

Looks great! What are you using for covers on your nesting boxes? They look like bottoms to a dog crate/kennel. They look good too.

Howdy flycropper,
for the nest boxes, I had old stackable bins that I cut into with a Dremel. The girls can get in and out with no problem. I set the bins on a long board for support. I have a hook on the bins that I can pop off and clean the bins and all surfaces as needed. I also have individual boards under each next box, that way if I have a broody hen i can lift the bin off her and pick her and the nest up and put her in my broody hatching area with out disturbing her or her eggs. It's the only thing I could come up with on my budget.

I love your idea for the nesting box, I was actually thinking along the same lines, or maybe using cat litter boxes.

How old are your chicks? They look just a bit older than mine... no one around here will build me another coop, so I'm buying a Chick-n-Barn which should be here tomorrow, and then the girls are out of the greenhouse! Whee!

Thanks for the feed back, you folks are great. My girls (chickens) are 9 weeks old today!!! They grow up so fast and then they're off and laying eggs all by themselves.
