I had to add an extra set of side walls because the neighborhood strays are just a little too interested in my girls. When I am outside - I open it up but when I have to leave I raise the sides for protection. The way the side panels are they get good air flow and are secure also the chicken wire allows for light and air. The girls seem very happy.
