Okay, this will be a running progression of my rebuild/ refurbishing of the 20 + year old coop/run that already exists here at Triple H Farm Lots of work ahead! I have to basically completely rebuild the 12X8 coop and then basically re-fence the 30X30 run. This will include rebuilding the back corner as a large oak tree limb has smashed it to peices and then the cows have destroyed the back fence so it will have to be redone and probably a hot wire or two run across there... especially after food is re-introduced to the coop. We have one LARGE heifer that will stop at NOTHING when food is involved... She goes wherever, whenever she wants to eat anytyhing she can find that even remotely looks like food. Prunella has even been found visiting the neighbors cattle at feeding times "just visitin'" She always manages to look up with one of those looks on her face that says "What? I just wanted to play with my buddies! They asked me to stay for supper! Really!!"
So here is what I am about to attack, the ONLY "Improvement" so far has been to mow the area around it 2 days ago to convince Mr. Sneaky Snake to go away....I hate snakes! (no offense to the snake lovers here intended but rattlesnakes are NOT our friends I don't care how beautiful they are!)

Thanks Carolina Chick! I think the chooks will like it! It stands in the shade of a barn that we believe to be approx 100 years old Barely still standing in fact, I hope when it decides to fall it falls away from the coop/run!

Here is a pic of the run area. It is full of trees we grew up calling Hackberries, I don't know what they actually are other than scrubby little trees that will get bigger but right now they have LOTS of low branches that I gotta cut off or risk getting beaten to death by them everytime I enter the run. So I suspect that will be my next step, besides it will give me more room to work without having to stoop under them!

It sure will be nice when it is done though. Don't forget to show us the progress as you go along. And I would love to see a picture of Prunella....lol
