My coop

It's still in planning stage, but I have some ?'s.

I want to have a building that is 8'x6'. Then, take the inside and divide it in half. It'd be 6'x4' for the actual coop part and the other part storage. Have a large garbage can for feed and some bales of wheat straw*. Let me know what Ya'll think! Please give pics of ya'lls coop.


* I know that pine is suggested, but my chickens seem to like wheat straw. We bought them some since the store was out of shavings and they really like it. We also put some in the run and it does well.

Only issue with any type of "straw" is mildew, the mildew is very toxic to chickens when inhaled . pine shavings for some reason absorb better. thats what I've been told through a few chicken 101 classes. My coop is smaller then your idea so not sure if it would help but heres a link to it
