hi everyone,
during the day my dog got into my 4 weeks old chicken food the brand of food is Peters Chick Crumbles there was not a lot left do anyone know if it is safe for my dog (he is a Maltese)

It shouldn't hurt him but when my Sheltie was pigging out on my chicken feed, it was costing me an arm and a leg! So I made feeders like this that she couldn't get into. This is a huge trash can but I also made some little five-gallon bucket feeders. Here's a tip: don't buy the kits available at feed stores! They're too shallow and the birds can scoop out huge amounts of feed and make a huge mess, leading to waste and bringing in vermin and wild birds! Get your own 3" diameter street elbows.

I would worry if the feed has a lot of calcium in it. I would question a veterinarian.

If it's Chick Crumbles, there's probably not a lot of calcium. I've caught my dog eating the spilled chicken food before. It's mostly grains so I'm sure your little one will be fine but it would be good to ask a vet. Take a pic of the ingredient list/nutrition label to show them.

Your dog will be fine. Certain chicken feeds seem to be like crack for dogs. We had to keep the farm dogs out of the chicken feed growing up and I have caught my Shetland sheepdog in my feed bag a time or two.
