My Dog Hates Baths! What to do?

They do make 'waterless' shampoos. It's basically a powder that you sprinkle on them.

A friend of mine has show Corgy's, she uses a 1/2 & 1/2 mixture of water and pine sol in a spray bottle. Spray that on the dog, and rub with a towel.

Thats different! But Yet really cool!

I have a dog (grey hound/great dane) that was severely abused years ago. We aren't sure what happened to him, but he is terrified of water still to this day.
I get him a dry shampoo when he needs to be cleaned up, and it works really well for him. You can find it at any pet store in the shampoo section. There is a rinseless type in a spray bottle, but I found the dry shampoo worked better for him.

You could try treats. They had a dog afraid of baths on Animal Planet's "It's me or the dog" and she bought them a walk-in tub, and first gave the dog treats to have him walk in (no water). And just made the dog think it was a fun place for food. Then they started washing with lots of praise and treats and it worked out fine.

The tub looked like this: Tub

It will. It's a powder you brush into their coat. The powder absorbs any dirt, oils, etc, and they smell better, and look cleaner for a little bit

As often as you like. Ours is white, but he's older now. He doesn't get super dirty like he used to. I usually do it once every two weeks or so. It depends on him really. He likes being brushed so he wouldn't mind if it was done more often either.
