Hello,
I have a female and a male. The female hasn’t been well for sometime and I knew it was only a matter of time before I had to make that heartbreaking decision. I know having only one will not be good. I was gonna get rid of him because of that. But I had a thought tonight...would he possibly be content with my three young goats. They already know each other, they don’t bother with each other, but could that possibly work??? I will never ever get another male because of the aggressive traits they have, not his fault. I love him and don’t want to see him leave but maybe the goats will give him comfort. Should I try it or is it not worth his heartache of trying. I’m really torn

they get aggressive because of the females. two males can easily be best friends!

Ducks are very social and need other duck friends. Other animals are okay substitutes in a pinch only because they're better than leaving the bird completely alone, but they're not suitable replacements in a long-term situation. If you're unwilling to get another male or 4+ females, he should be rehomed to someone else who has more ducks.

I knew what the answer was gonna be...
I can’t get anymore Ducks until the Spring and I know that’s too long. My heart breaks to let him go. I will make a last ditch attempt to re-home him tonight. I’m in PA, the Lehigh ValleyThanks
