I am sorry if this is considered cross posting, but I'm not sure if this belongs in the chicken emergencies category, or ducks category (are their digestive systems the same?). I promise to delete this post after the issue has been resolved.

But please, if you have any experience with your duck eating something crazy or have had a duck with an impacted crop/gizzard, my post is located here:

Thank you very much, and I apologize once again if I am violating any of your rules. I respect your forum very much and appreciate all of its great advice.

As toadbriar said on the other thread- it is very important not to try and pull it out - if it starts to come out - it will most likely all pass eventually without issue- but pulling it could do damage to the internal organs of your duck.

Make sure he has 24 hour access to water at the moment- and crumble would be the best for food as you are doing as it breaks down very small quicky. Fingers crossed for the little guy.

In the wild, ducks eat all kinds of funky stuff....a string will more than likely just become another pile of poo for you to slip on

I don't know if oily will help but it sure won't hurt.

Usually, if it went in without a problem, it will come out without a problem.

I hope he's going to be OK. As said before, the wild ducks eat all kinds of wierd stuff. I've seen them eat fake bait and fishing lures and live to tell about it.
