hello my 1 year 4 month old duck ate something weird just about five minutes ago. I couldn’t catch what it was when i ran up to her to check she have already swallowed it. I know i should just focus on her poop changes and behaviors. But was wondering do you think i can give her olive oil ? For it can help her pass it. Or is that dangerous for them? Like what can i use to help her pass it if needed. Cause we don’t have a local vet.

Feel down her neck for anything unusual also her crop since its morning hopefully there and she shouldn't have a full crop yet. Giving them anything by mouth is dangerous unless you know what you are doing. If it goes down into the lungs and they aspirate it can cause pneumonia, So for now I'd just keep an eye on her. You could put some olive oil on her feed. That would be a safe way of giving it.

My question is why do you think it was something weird? Did you get a good look at it or not really? Was she outside? It could have been a small animal, like a frog or toad, in which case no intervention is necessary.

no i did not i just saw her eating something and normally when she eats something she’s not suppose to she runs away from me. I just wanted to have a little more knowledge in case of any emergencies

A vet is going to tell you to watch for abnormal changes in behavior and her poop unless it's poisoning then charcoal. Otherwise there is not much you can do at home that won't make it worse.
