I have 3 ducks currently which are a pekin, rouen noir and black swedish. I have covid currently and in quarantine. Today I went out to take care of them since my family was out and my drake suddenly started vibrating like crazy when i went near them and tried to charge at me. My other ducks acted like I was a monster. Its been only 6 days and they are acting like this. My drake was veery friendly. What should I do? Is this normal? Or is there some other reason? Why did the drake vibrate?

Your ducks haven't forgotten you. They are angry or confused because they haven't seen you for 6 days. I was away for 10 days before Christmas and one of my muscovies started attacking me when I got back and the other muscovy sulked!! the sulking stopped after a few days but it took week of intensive work with the drake that was attacking me before he stopped. Once you are over the COVID, be sure to return to your normal routine with your ducks, and give them extra time and extra treats.

Give them time. I work during the week and don't see my ducks as often as my husband. They are not as comfortable with me. When I have time off and can spend a lot more time with them, they start becoming more and more comfortable with me again. Bring them treats and spend sometime with them. They haven't forgotten you, but need to time to settle back into the old routine. Ducks are not fans of change, so those 6 days could have been hard on them. So just be patient with them and they will come around again.

thank you for the reply. I was worried we might not bond again. After covid i will give them extra time and extra treats.

Yes i will incorporate myself in their routine again. Currently its me and my sis who take care of them so they might have gotten kinda used to not having me around. I will be patient with them and spend extra time with them.
