My duck has a giant bald spot on his back!

He has a big bald spot on his back. I do not know what to do. Someone please help me.

He used to be my neighbors who has ducks and chickens. He was getting attacked by chickens so my neighbor let me take him and help him. His back wasnt like this when I got him.

I took him to the vet. They said that they had to put him down so yeah. He is gone now.
