my ducks are acting scared

hi my ducks are living inside my home for now. I have a baby duck(sunny) that was loving and sweet and i decided to get another baby duck(sky) 2 days later from the same store, so sunny wouldn't be alone but now they seem to have bonded and now are skiddish and run from me every time i go near them . any advice how i can make them feel safe and get my loving duck back? (sky)duck #2 has been skiddish from the day we got him. I have now had them 2 weeks . thank you if anyone has any ideas what i can do to make them feel at ease?

Just spend lots of time sitting near them, taking calmly, and feeding out of your hands.

I’m very glad that you decided to get Sunny a friend as ducks are very social and can grow depressed and anxious without a buddy. As for them being skiddish spend extra time with them both together and individually (don’t leave one alone but maybe hold one and let the other walk around next to you). Sit with them and let them come up to u and peck at you a bit (it doesn’t hurt at all). Hand feeding them their favorite snacks (mine love mealworms and kale the most) also helps them bond and trust you more. I hope this helped

Wonderful idea to get another duck! My guess is that your original duck was bonded to you because you were all that it had, but it's probably feeding off of the reactions of the second duck now. Ducks are naturally skittish animals. You can get them to warm up to you again, but treats are always a go-to for that.

Yup my ducks have gone through a skittish “rebellious teen phase” and they all got over it within a few weeks.
