My ducks are driving me crackers!

We free feed ours with a dry food box in their pen area and give them cheerios or fresh veggies / watermellon during the day ... likely about 1 cup total per day, they seem to forrage through the yard and find whatever else they need, want, desire ...

That's the way I do my ducks also. They get their food in the pen and snacks during the day. When I changed to flock raiser George went wild over it and she would make a lot of trips back to the cage to eat. Someone was always refilling her bowl I knew she was eating way to much so I went on a search to see how much they are suppose to eat. And I came up with the cup a day and that was actually giving her extra. She has gotten over the over eating thing and the mallads don't eat any where's as much as they are suppose to. I can give them 16oz and there is usually a little in the bottom left every day in case they want to go back and eat later. I usually give them snacks also during the day usually in the morning when I let them out. Since the weather has been so hot they don't come out of the creek much during the day until evening time.
