Frazzemat1- I wish you could take him off my hands too! I have never actually culled a chicken. I don't have enough pullets for another rooster. I already have two French black copper marans cockerels, a salmon faverolles cockerel and a porcelain booted bantam cockerel. I might have more with some of my younger chicks, as well.
Chick-N-Fun- the copper on the body made me suspect a male, also. That coupled with the darker pea comb made me suspicious. I was hoping it was just poor quality stock because I got it from
TSC, but my daughter says I am in chicken denial. She is probably right.
I love the variety of egg colors the Easter Eggers give and was really looking forward to what color of egg I would get from her.
cstephens1987- I thought she was a beautiful color and then the copper patches started coming and I figured she was not a she.
The funny thing is, my fbcm cockerels intimidate it. I thought that meant it was a she because they are so much smaller and it is so big I thought if it was a cockerel wouldn't it be less scared of them?
I have a lot to learn. Makes me a little sad that I won't get another egg color from it.
