my EEs won't lady in the nesting box

is there a way to get them to lay in the nesting box? they just lay out in the open "run" part.

Have you tried putting golf balls or fake eggs in the boxes? It worked like a charm for my "free range" layer. Also make sure the boxes are semi-dark and private inside, so the hen feels safe when she lays in there.

I have golf balls in all my laying boxes. The hens seem to prefer Callaway and Titlelist. I keep finding one egg on the floor below the boxes every morning. I found a small egg today out in the run.

every once in a while I can get them to lay in the nesting box but both my EEs lay on the ground. one even lasted in the snow the other day.
