16 of the most beautiful, well packed little eggs you've ever seen. This is my first hatch and I am so excited. I have 12 EE's and 4 silkies going in tomorrow after they rest up from their ride. After lunch I'll candle and check the air sacs, but just wanted to share the first pics and tell Sonew that they are already here and they arrived safe and sound! Those olive eggs are gorgeous! The green/blues don't show up so well with my camera, but they are very pretty, too. The teeny silkies are my girls' favorites. They are hoping for a girl silkie to name Bella.

By the way, the mail lady was as excited and nervous as I was. She carried them gingerly and wanted to know all about them. She said she felt like she was delivering babies.

Well, she was...

How awesome--I purposely put "Fragile Hatching eggs" on the box so people think that the eggs are actually hatching and handle them more carefully!! My PO loves me and gets very excited when Im in there 3-5 days a week-they are so careful-When I told them I had eggs coming to me next week they were even more excited so they can see what Im doing:)

You took an awesome picture of those eggs..Im so excited for you. I have those specific kinds in my bator and will take pictures to show you what you will be hatching out:) Ill watch this thread constantly to check and see how things progress while filling you in too:)

Of all the times for the bator to act up, now the temp in the water wiggler is going up to 102.7 and the humidity wont go over 26, even with the tray and an extra sponge in there. Sigh. It must know the eggs are here and it's nervous, too. I just turned the thermostat and took the probe out of the water wiggler to see what the air temp is running. Hopefully I can get it dialed in good again before tomorrow. I don't know what happened.

Those are beautiful eggs. How do incubators know these things?...Mine acts up right when it isn't supposed to as well. If I ignore it, it stays rock steady @ 99.5 F right where is should be LOL! Keep us updated how your hatch goes

Ok, I just candled. 6 of the light green eggs have detached aircells and I can clearly see "large bubbles" floating around moving like in a level when I move the egg. 2 of the silkie eggs are that way. And the olive ones are so dark I can't see a thing. I know the eggs were packaged very well and I am in no way upset, but I want to make sure I am doing the correct thing to give them the best chance to hatch. I read not to let them lay on their side in the bator like normal, but to put them straight up with the pointy end down in a carton from day one. And not to turn for 3 days. Does that sound right to you? It seems that some folks on here have had success with eggs with detached cells. Anyone can offer even more pointers and/or success stories? I'm still putting them all in there and trying tomorrow, but just want to give them the best chance possible.

I have four for sure that have air cells still intact, and possibly more since I can't see the olive ones.

Sonew,

What kind are you getting next week? I want some pink eggs. You don't by any chance get any of those from your hens now do you? I can't get anymore in my small bator right now, but if these olive ones don't come out, I'm definitely coming back to try those again. Yours are by far the darkest I've seen. Everyone down here says they have olive eggs, but none with color so rich.
