One of my girls FINALLY went broody, so I more than happily stuck 10 of my silkie eggs under her. But everyday that I check on her someone has laid another egg in her nest, which she gratefully accepts into the clutch. I have nowhere else really to put her. I have a couple of incubators, so even if she leaves after the silkie's hatch, I can throw the others into the bator.
The reason for my post is that I'm going to candle tonight. This is my first ever broody chicken, so is there so advice someone with an experienced broody girl can give. it would be greatly appreciated.

If you need you, you can mark the eggs with a pencil. That's what I did. It doesn't hurt the eggs as long as you don't press hard. That way you know which eggs you can take out of the nest. Hope you get a good hatch!

That's a good idea, thanks. I'm just hoping that she won't mind me jacking with her if it's at night. During the day, if I even wander by her nest to collect the other girls eggs, she growls at me and fluffs up. the only thing is is that, I've been reading about this mammoth size poo that broodies have, and I haven't seen that yet, should I be worried?

So, I candled the eggs last night, and all 10 that I put under her have development, plus there were 5 more that the other girls "deposited" that have development. Is 15 to much, or should I leave them?
