My first chicks are here! with pics

So I ordered 8 chicks from MPC to be shipped Feb 16th. After reading so many stories about people losing their chicks I was convinced that they would all be DOA because I was crazy enough to order 8 chicks (the exact number I wanted) to be shipped to cold LI in Feb. So I was kinda dreading it when I got the call this morning at 7:15. But all arrived alive and seem to be thriving

After staring at them/taking a thousand pics, I had to drag myself back to work, so hopefully when I get home, all will still be good!

Congrats on being a new mama/papa! I'm still trying to figure out which hen breeds I want...so many to choose from! I've made a Rubbermaid brooder for inside, approx 2 weeks, and am starting to build my Grower house this weekend. They'll be in it for 6 weeks, until we get the main coop built. I'm so excited, and am sure you are too for yours!

Awwww, we are mail order buddies! I ordered 8 chicks from MPC as well and they all arrived yesterday happy and eating up a storm. One of mine has taken a turn and is lethargic, but I've got her on vitamins (all the chicks are on them) and feeding yogurt, AVC in the water, etc. I'm really hoping she pulls through!

Anyways, CONGRATS on your new lil girls, what did you get?
