I wasn't quite sure how to post more than one picture at a time.
I have never owned chickens before, and have 25 coming on Thursday, but husband decided we needed more meat chicks, so I picked up these 6 today at TSC. I was nervous about picking them up and putting them in the box, but one by one, these 6 came walking up to my hand, so I scooped them up and put them in. All of them are eating and drinking just fine, and sprawled just at the edge of their heat. Temp in the brooder says about 94 directly under the light.
They look to be a bit more than a few days, since they are getting feathers.
I am thrilled.
So far, my 2 golden retrievers have no idea that there are chicks in the big box in the kitchen. They go about their business and just don't care. I'm sure by Thursday night, when it's a lot noisier in there, they will notice something.
