After almost a year of researching and planning and waiting I finally have my first batch of chickens.

They arrived bright and early at the post office today at 6:30am. Sadly I only had time to get them into the brooder and dash to work, but they're so cute!

I got:
2 Ameraucana
2 Dominique
2 Spangled Russian Orloff
2 Columbian Wyandotte
2 Light Brahma
2 Buff Chantecler
2 White Giant (I'd ordered Black but Ideal sent me White instead - ggrr)
5 Appenzeller Spitzhauben
2 Cream Brabanter
2 Blue Hamburg
2 Gold Spangled Hamburg

Everybody seems strong and healthy and I can't wait to get home to see them. I'm starting to see how chicken obsession happens...

Boomer, my 2 1/2 year old golden retriever/labrador retriever trying to figure out just how much of a bird dog he is! He's real gentle actually and never trained with birds but he sure is interested in them!

Some chicklet pictures. I'm so amazed with these little girls. They change SO FAST! I find myself sitting and watching them. The boyfriend calls it watching "the peep show"

The chick with the light brown face (Cream Brabanter) died at 4 days of unknown causes.

"Siren" the Guinea with the stripes. The chick to her left is my favorite (and I think she's an EE cause she doesn't look like anything else!)

They're so cute at 1 week with their wing & tail feathers coming in!

Too many pictures? Sorry! I'm becoming "Chicken Obsessed"!
