My First Duck egg

YAY, my Rouen Shirley just laid her first egg last night. I do have one question though, any clue why she laid first and not Laverne? Laverne is quite a bit larger than Shirley. We assumed she was older. (We got them early Sept. they were born this spring.)

Love the names! Guessing the duck was older or Shirley just matured faster than Laverne. I have two Khaki hens which were hatched at the same time. They started laying at the end of October, early November. One started three weeks earlier than the other.
