Sandy finally laid her first egg! It has to be the most beautiful egg i've ever seen! Perfect shape and pretty color! The yolk was bigger than my Eggland's Best egg yolks!

Yeah it was! Look at what I got yesterday! Poor Pumpkin must have been in pain after that egg. I wonder if it's a double yolker. I'm waiting to crack it open this weekend.

Wow, that quail egg is tiny! I raised quail as a kid, so you'd think I'd remember...but I swear they weren't that small. Are button smaller?

Yeah, we get double yoker's sometimes and some that only have one yoke but are still shaped like a torpedo!

Sometimes does make you wonder how comfortable the hen can be...but I guess she doesn't mind? Ours have never seemed any worse for their over-sized eggs, anyway.

Have you had an omelete yet?

I just had an all farm-fresh egg omelet yesterday! Two of Sandy's eggs and Pumpkin's huge one. Pumpkin's egg was a double yolker and it was only her 5th egg!
