MY FIRST EGG!!! PICTURES COMING SOON !!

Thanks to all of you and all your great help and advice we have our first egg!!
You guys are the best !!

I have just one question...she laid it in the pine shavings on the floor...I had put fake eggs in the nest boxes...Should I maybe put her real egg in there now?
I guess I'm thinking she might follow the smell and enter the nest box.

First...

for your first egg. It's always exciting!

Second...she'll figure out the nest box. You can move the egg in there if you want to (though I'd rather eat it!). Fake eggs are fine. Keep introducing her to the nest box, hopefully she'll get the hint.

Wow - that first egg just makes you want to look at it all evening! Here's to many more fine eggs!
And don't worry - she'll learn about the nestbox - or like my weid marans, continue to lay on the floor.
