I've always bought my chickens on the market, but I decided to try to incubate my own. I bought a Covatutto 12 my first attempt 2 bad eggs removed a week ago, 9 baby chicks and 1 what may be a dud, I will give it another 2 days. The chicks are all now under an infra red light and racing around, all eating and drinking.
As an aside, my pygmy goat gave birth to twins 4 days ago and I've bought a lamb.
