My First Eggs!!!

Sorry, had to share. First time with chickens Not sure which of my girls did this, but I am one happy Mama!! I was beginning to wonder as they are all 5 months old. I was paranoid that the first ones would come out deformed!

I found my first egg today too! Yay! It was bittersweet though, because I lost my Rhode Island Red to a predator while they were free ranging just before the egg was laid.
Your eggs look nice! Mine was smaller and light brown with white speckles. It is so pretty that I hate to crack it.

Thanks!! One of mine had very light speckles on it. So sorry about your RIR! That is hard. I started with 12 straight run. Ended up with 4 roos. I culled 2 roos last weekend bc I just didn't need 4. I tried for weeks to give them away and no takers. I have 8 hens and I am not sure who is laying. I am positive that they weren't laid by my white leghorns though seeing that they are brown eggs That leaves 6 that could have done it!
