So this is the first time I built a Cabinet incubator, before this, I've hatched in boxes, plastic bottles, etc. .
I'm posting pictures, and if it worked well I will add instructions on how to built it, having said that, I think it's pretty clear through the pictures.
I'm going to run a test next week, putting 10 chicken eggs in it and see how it'll do.
I have used cheap material for this incubator, I have a cheap thermometer that I have got good results, I have this cheap hygrometer which is precise according to the salt rest (shows %75), there are 2 adjustable holes in the ceiling of the cabinet for regulating the humidity, and this egg tray I've built myself, the turner motor turns half way in 16.3 seconds which is controlled by a timer that operates the motor for that amount of time every 1 hour, you can get the turner motor and the fan from an old oven, I bought them, this is the best fan I've ever used for an incubator, it does a great job of regulating the temperature inside evenly, there's a 300-watt heating element around the fan that is put in series with a 1N5408 diode so its power is reduced to 150watts(I'm to cheap to use a dimmer
) ), there's also a 10watt light bulb with the same diode so its heat has less effect on the temps, I had seen an incubator like this on youtube.
The eggs you see inside are not fertile, they're just for show.
I have a question by the way, is it OK to set the turner to operate once every hour? Should I do more turning? Or less?
