So I've been hatching babies left and right and last night was the first successful hatch from one of my mix breed chicken eggs. The mother is one of my white leghorn girls and the father is one of my barred rock boys.
5 eggs went into the incubator clearly marked with who the parents were and so far 3 have died due to being too small for the egg and drown when trying to pip. This one was much bigger during candling so I had hope.
Meet Buttercup! I wonder if she'll be lucky to have ghost barring.
