My girls are a little over a year old. 7 of the 8 have bare butts, and backs. One has all her feathers (top hen in pecking order) This has been going on for a few months. (No rooster in the house, girls only club) 1 of the 8 is a complete hot mess, feathers missing all over. They are eating, drinking, producing well and their crops feel good. I have sprayed them down with Elector PSP (twice) so I don’t believe it's mites. Their coop is 5x6 feet and their run is 12x6 feet. Are they board? Molting? Or just little buggers and pecking each other? I think the coop and run are a good size for 8 chickens. Or am I wrong? Should I expand the run? Any and all suggestions and help is welcome!

Bare backs and bare areas on wings on "hot mess" say the fully feathered dominant hen is dominance mounting excessively.

Bare butts could be feather picking while on the roost.

Can we see inside the coop in particular the roosting arrangement.

Hmmmmm....

I do think the roost needs spread out some. Can you try 2 roosts that go all the way across and are 18" between them?
Maybe attach one across at each of the 2 vertical studs on that end. If you can add a couple small boards for them to sit on they can be made to lift out for cleaning/maintenance.

The coop and run are super cute.

As to the dominance mounting and bare backs it takes time to heal up and regrow feathers. They may remain in that condition until they molt which is quite a long time off.
I am not sure if you want to isolate the dominant one, rehome her or let them work it out.

I'm just reading your post from 2022 (!!) where you are having trouble treating for mites, well, my 29 chickens look exactly like yours losing feathers on their vent area and neck area and itching etc and I have figured out from all my research they have De-Pluming mites! I originally thought there was only 2 kinds- Northern and Red mites. I have found that Ivermectin applied topically is what kills them. And repeated in 2 weeks. I talked (free) to the Vet at Valleyvet.com and she really helped me. I originally had ordered the $160 Elector Psp til I figured out they must have the De-Pluming mites killed by Ivermectin. They are very very tiny black mites nearly microscopic, smaller than a period. By the way, I also cleaned & sprayed the coop extensively about 3 times with the Elector Psp when that vet told me it would be helpful to do that in addition to the Ivermectin.
