My free range boys are still awake?!

It's 11:15 pm here and DH and I just went out to smoke and the four boys that I let free range are all in front of the garage near their waterer and catching bugs. This is NOT normal, is it?

I would think that they would go in at dusk or just before dusk. Is a light on where they are catching bugs? Maybe the good meal is keeping them up.

If I leave a light on, the rooster will stay up catching bugs.
I've also noticed that he can see in the dark much better than his ladies. They turn into droopy dope heads at dusk, but he can actually get around if there is *any* light for his eyes to work with.
