I currently ended up with two flocks because my original flock has been completely free range from day one and my other newer flock is coop and pen kept. ....My free range couple Kevin and Gracie had keets 4 weeks ago and well you could have knocked me down with a pearl feather tonight when I saw Kevin, Gracie and their babies up in the cedar trees getting ready for bed....For the last two months I never thought this day would come because I was told that it wouldn't...Everyone said that Gracie would be killed lying out in the field under her holly bush sitting patiently on her eggs, then everyone said that the babies would never make it because they have no defenses and can't fly but they were all wrong and we couldn't be happier to know that these babies are that much safer in the trees with their parents...I do not recommend this way of doing things but I am very happy to know that their survival chances have just gone up.

Congrats!

Its amazing how well a momma can take care of her babies.

Best of luck!

Amazing story!!! My girls have also been excellent mothers - but it seems many other people have problems. I guess we're the lucky ones!! Three cheers for all the guinea mamas who are determined to have babies! - and succeed!!!
