Back in February I reached out to a local breeder about getting some Frizzle babies, then the wait began. My hatch finally came around in May. This breeder has a pullet guarantee, so it was a few week wait until she could accurately sex them and I could bring them home. They are now 5 week old.
Mine came from Crested Cream Legbar hens, which are already pretty wild looking, and then add the frizzle gene, and well...
One of them has extra toes, I am assuming from their Silkie dad:
Neither one of them have names yet. So far, they are both very quiet, I am not sure if that is their personality or if they are just shell shocked from the transition to their new home. I am definitely keeping a very close eye on both of them and have some Sav-A-Chick and Chick Booster on standby.
Even though I still would love to have some Zombie chickens or some Lavender Orpingtons, I think these will be my last new addition to my collection of chickens for a long time. Taking care of babies is exhausting!
