My furnace gave me an idea

So today walked down to the furnace to find the condensate pump (ok I know what it is NOW...I just thought it was the little water thingy on the furnace) had overflowed. DH took it apart and fixed it but it got me thinking.

There's two schools of thought to keep water freezing: warm it or keep it moving. Has anyone thought to maybe use one of these things to make a steady flow of water? Seems to me you'd just need to remove the check valve and boom: water fountain.

In winter time,, when temps drop to certain level,,, even 7734 will freeze over. Now you can circulate outdoor water into a warm basement,, where it would get warmed by basement ambient,,,,,,, but too many things can go wrong,,,, like clogs,, and such,, that would stop the circulation.
Heated dog bowls with a thermostat are my go to water in winter. I keep one for the chickens,, an one in front yard for songbirds and squirrels. The wattage is low,, so it does not break the bank. 25 watts for the ones I have.

Thank you. That was a very strange time in my life to see a pigeon just casually walking down my drive right to the front door. At any rate I'm assured that serin did what was best for him. We've used heated dog bowls and heated waters. I was just interested if anyone had used this appliance to some success..
