My babies (12weeks) keep chasing my dog. And I only have a little dog. They ran halfway across that yard today cause she was too close to their coop.

Can I stop them chasing her? Cause their gonna end up bigger than her, and theres gonna be a death or an injury soon

Help

:: trying not to laugh:: i was SOOOO worried when i put my girls outside last year because my pug is very food aggressive, but surprisingly, the hens pecked her once on the forehead and shes left them alone since then, with the exception of chasing them to make them mad every so often. they should work themselves out on their own. the dog will get the idea, eventually

Just to add to ebony's statement 'unless the dog is a killer' I have a dog that isnt a killer but he stands up for himself. If a broody pecks him he mouths them warningly slightly hard but not enough for injury. Note he is a huge lab x. And actually just to add cuz I thought this was sort of cute on his part not my other dog Yoshi... anyway when I started out and I had moved the teens out to the big coop, they kept finding escapes. One morning I brought 2 of my dogs with me to the coop, Chance and Yoshi (appenzeler mtn dog). I didnt know that 2 has escaped. One dog went after each chicken. Chance picked up his in his mouth and I scream DROP HEEERRRR!!! He looks at me and walk over and drops her right in front of me, he doesnt even chase them now. He just stares at them. Yoshi on the other hand... well guess
