My "girls"

Here is a pic of my "girls". I put in girls in parenthesis because two do not act like hens, more like rooster behavior. When I change out the shavings, food and water, one will be right there making sure I do not do any 'funny" stuff. They have their feathers coming in and the tail feathers are just the cutest!
This one is also getting lighter. I was also wondering when I can start giving them 'scrap' veggies and what about 'grit'? And bugs? I have 12 and need to be looking for a bigger box. I am changing their chips everyday. They are fluttering around and will soon be finding chickies out in the basement soon taking over.

I just supply chicks starter feed only. They don't need additional grit if that's their sole diet. Mine are over two weeks now and did give them some tiny bits of wheat bread as a treat today but typically don't give them treats until they are outside and picking up grit on their own. Got a few more weeks for that depending on the weather.
