I own 4 guinea fowls (2M, 2F) and they haven't been sitting on any of the eggs they have laid. I heard guinea fowls usually sit on them before abandoning their offspring when they hatch. What could be the cause of that?

I have chickens and guineas, and someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they need to go broody before they will sit on eggs. I have eight guinea hens and six males, and only one of my hens has gone broody so far. She is currently sitting and will let the other girls keep laying additional eggs that she will jump right back on.

I could tell the guinea was broody because her wattles got pale (light pink instead of red) and her call changed a bit, not to mention the fact that she just never wanted to leave the nest.
Best of luck, hope they change their mind soon 🤩
