My hen just went broody.

One day to me does not equal broody. Some will play broody for a day or two, then go about their business.

Do you have coop/run/heat/space to raise chicks in winter?

IF she's a committed broody and IF you want chicks in winter and IF you have the space/time/facilities to house them in winter, then consider getting eggs.
But have an incubator ready in case she abandons eggs and a plan to brood/raise them yourself.

If she's not committed and/or you don't want winter chicks, then break her.

What @Wyorp Rock said. I have a broody set to hatch this weekend and am in WI. Coop is not heated, run is wrapped and it isn't bad in there. Eggs have been toasty warm under her and she is fierce and dedicated.

Do you want chicks? Have space for them? Want them in the house all winter if she stops?

Give her a couple days and see
