My Hen need a hysterectomy in Seattle

Hi There

Anybody in Seattle know where I can get a hysterectomy for one of my flock
She is laying internally and the vet said to put her down or operate but the procedure
Is very costly
They have quoted me $700 to $1300 dollars this place is close to my home but I am willing to travel with her if I can save her I feel this is way too expensive and not within my pocket book
Any advice would be great my poor girl is having difficulty berthing and in a lot of discomfort
What can I do to help her.

I think another way to look at this is what is the survival rate for this type of surgery?? I would wonder how much experience the vet has.performing this procedure. I doubt many people spend the money on their chickens - only because most are just thought of as farm animals not beloved pets.I can't believe any vet has done this.

It would be doubly upsetting to put your girl thru this surgery and have her succumb anyway. I'm sorry you are in this position.
