My hen (not sure her age) she was my first hen. She was gave to me with young rooster. About 2 weeks ago she quit laying eggs (I was getting 1 a day) then her down feathers seem to fall out if she roosted or something. She would no longer "mate"with the rooster. But they were best friends. She acted fine even ran across the yard some. Well today she was found dead in her coop. He was guarding her. I opened her up to check for egg binding, no eggs. Everything looks fine. The night before we did move the younger hens into their pen but I didn't think that wouldn't give her a heart attack. Please someone help me understand this. Thank you!!!!!
