Today I noticed my 5-6yo ISA Brown hen had some pasty butt, so I took her inside and cleaned her up. While doing that, I noticed her area bellow the vent is a little red (idk if that's normal or not), and super hard. I also noticed right before bringing her inside that her stool is loose and not formed at all. Not to be TMI, but it just kind of squirted out with no form, rather then my other hens formed white poops. I just put her back outside after drying her off, but should I do anything beyond that? I will keep an eye on her and tell you if she is acting lethargic or odd in any way. All my hens eat the same food, with oyster shells on the side for layers, so she isn't getting too much calcium. It could just be that she is old and her days are limited, but if I can save her, I want to try. Should I separate her from the flock?

Edit - Here are some photos:

Idk if you can tell, but it's super enflamed and big. Her butt is just a little wet from the bath I gave her, so that why her feathers look a little scant.

And she walks around with her head tucked in.

Update: her poop is complete liquid, and totally clear. It was pretty bubbly - almost more like urine than poop. I let my flock free range in the yard because I know she loves it.

Does she still lay eggs and has she laid recently? It is difficult to see much in the pictures, so if you can part her feathers for another picture, that might help. She is older, and in hens over 3, cancer and reproductive disorders can be common. Salpingitis, egg yolk peritonitis and others may be a problem. Is her lower belly enlarged and firm to touch? Are there feather missing? Does her crop empty overnight? Is she eating and drinking?

For another picture, what exactly do you want to see? Her vent, or just the skin of her belly/butt area?
She hasn't laid any eggs (that I know of) for a couple months, and her last eggs had soft shells. Her lower belly is enlarged and hard. I did notice some missing feathers on her bum, and the skin underneath is super red. How could I tell if her crop empties overnight? (sorry, I'm new to this!) She has been eating the last few days, and I have seen her eat today too.

She sounds like she may have salpingitis or it could be cancer or tumors. Salpingitis is inflammation of the oviduct, and there can be solid masses of egg material inside her abdomen. Lash eggs may be found sometimes in the droppings. Are there any broken off feathers? Feather picking may cause redness. Make sure there are no signs of maggots around her vent or below if there are any wounds from pecking. In the early morning before she has access to food and water, run your hand over the front right of her chest to see if her crop is empty and flat, or full and hard, puffy, or doughy. Crop disorders (impacted crop or sour crop can be common with reproductive disorders. I don’t like to separate hens from their flock unless the others are bothering or pecking her. If you do need to separate, a wire dog crate with food and water nearby are good. I leave the crate near the other chickens.
