my hens dont perch

can anyone help me? i have had four ex battery hens for two months now and they are wonderful. i have noticed however that they have never perched on the perch in there house (or anywhere else). do you think they ever will or will they always be content nesting in the straw?

I had the same problem. I picked up 3 of the 7 and put them up on their roost at night. Three nights later I went out for lock up and all 7 were sitting together on the roost..lol. Go figure, now they are up on their roost every night!

x2. Simply teach them by putting them up there in the evening. They will get the hang of it in no time.
