My Hens Have an Audience

I went to collect eggs this morning and found two Ladies in the boxes.

I opened the access door to see if a hen had taken the golf balls out to make a nest in the bedding again (3 days out of 5 this week), and found all 4 of the Splits in the coop, apparently watching the hens in the boxes.

They were hatched on April 10 so they're a couple months from doing their own laying, but they're already curious about what the grown-ups are doing.

Yep. Of all the times for me to have left my phone on my desk.

This past week I've caught one sampling the oystershell too.

End of August is 20 weeks -- they're Orpington x Wyandotte so I doubt that they'll be early layers.
