It started with 3 hens starting to go broody and sharing the cluches. I moved them out to a small coop so they could set. They set but I think they've been eating the eggs. The hens in the original coop aren't laying in those nests and are laying all over and I think they're eating the eggs. I need them to go back to using the nests and stop eating eggs. Is there any hope ?

We put a golf ball in there to try and get them to stop eating the eggs, they peck at it and it's hard so they stopped. One still eats hers because they break when they come out. I think it can be difficult to stop broodiness, we just kept kicking the chicken out of the nestbox and collected the eggs as they were laid so she didn't have anything to sit on. If you're at work all day that can be hard, but if you observe them, they usually will make quite a ruckus when they lay. I don't think it helps to do both these suggestions at the same time because they might sit on the golf ball.... good luck! Look for some more threads on here too, I'm sure there are other suggestions!
