I have encountered a horrible situation here in the last 3 years. My contract used to state that the new owners may not re home without my OK on where the dog was going, that the dog would always be welcome back with me if needed. with the new laws here I was forced to change my contract to state a female dog can only come home if I am under the registered number of females I am allowed, which is upsetting because what if i ever get to the limit and someone decides they cant have a dog where they are moving. Will I break the law and allow the dog to come home?
For now, chickens have few laws, but as the ar groups grow stronger, and create more laws, we will see laws limiting how many hens we can have ect.
I hate puppy mills, and people who have chickens, or any animal and do not care for them properly, but I know the time will come where we will see skinny chickens in cages on TV begging for donations to "help the poor chickens" and the laws on chickens will change and we will be required to maybe only have 10 hens, housing requirements will be standardized and stringent and some people will simply stop raising chickens.
I guess I am glad that Missouri can no longer be dubbed "the puppy Mill capitol of the US" but I hate the fact that the very laws intended to protect dogs, may very well one day cause harm to one of my dogs because i could' nt bring her home.
