my horse....he well...died

well hes not my horse but he is my cousins horse, and i take care of their horses and ride them too. And a couple weeks ago one of the horses had a stroke, and fell, and kicked theboards next to his stall down, and he got all cut up, and he had to be put down. I feel realy bad because i just found out about it yesterday, and i havent seen the horses lately.

Has anybody ever had that happen to their horse?

Thats always hard... anytime an animal you love has to be put down, its hurts...

I remember how my Aunt's horse died. He broke his back while on a trail.

He had to be put down. And a horse at my riding stable broke his leg. He was my favorite horse, the one who had first made me comfortable about riding. He had to be put down too.

As hard as it is to lose and animal, it is part of life. I had a Mare, she was 32years old and I had to put her down. I was only her second owner and I am friends with the other owner. It took me almost a year to make the decision but it was the right decision for her. Her quality of life was going down hill and her mind was gone.

If your horse had a stroke, it probably would not have had any quality of life and as sad as it is, putting it down was likely the best decision.
