My house silkie is molting!!!!

Is it because we brought her into the house or what? I thought they did that in the spring. I have blue silkie feathers all over from her. How long will this last? Will she finally lay once it's over?

From what I understand they molt about 6 mos after hatching. Some go thru the molting process slower than others. My house hen seemed to molt for months while one of my coop hens molted in a couple of weeks.

A big change in temps can make them molt.
